About Our Boarding Facility

The kennels are concrete inside and out. They are heated during the winter months and air conditioned and fan cooled in the summer months. The kennel runs are 4'x4' inside and 4'x10' outside. Your pet has the option of going out or staying in all day long. Our kitty kennels are available in two sizes. The large kennels are 2'x3'x4' high with two perches and a separate area for the litter box. The smaller kennels are 2'x3'x2.5' with one perch and a separate area for the litter box. We provide food, bedding, toys, and cookie snacks. But if your dog has any special needs (or wants) feel free to bring any of these items along with you.

Rates

$18.00 per day for dogs
$14.00 per day for cats

Included in this fee are: the administering of medications (if your pet requires them), special feeding instructions and any other individual attention your pet may need. We provide additional exercise upon request (which is offered at a $2.00 charge in our kennel yard and the pet must be able to walk on a leash). If dogs are new to our kennel, it may be a few days before they will be settled in enough for additional exercise sessions. Each pet is different and we let them tell us when they are ready for that. We accept cash or checks as method of payment for boarding and grooming.

What to Bring

1. Your pet will need his/her shot records. All animals, dogs or cats, must be up to date with their shots before they can stay with us. Please do not bring dogs to the kennel for boarding with a harness and/or a flexi.

Dogs: DHLP-P and Rabies are required. Bordatella (kennel cough) is recommended, but not required.
Cats: DRCP and Rabies.

2. Please try to use flea prevention.
3. Your pet may bring a special toy (to cure homesickness)
4. Please bring any special foods or medication your pet needs.
5. You may bring a small towel or rug that is washable in a normal load of laundry. However, we do provide bedding, so this is not required.

Spicewood Kennels is not responsible for any toys or bedding left behind, though you may be able to find them in our "Lost and Found Toy Box".

Pick-Up Policy

Our Boarding Kennel hours are:

Monday-Friday: 8am - 5pm
Saturday & Sunday: 8am - noon

Our hours are set for the convenience of our clients and the emotional well-being of the pets that stay with us.

Services

Boarding at the kennel is by reservation only. It is advisable during the summer and holidays to make reservations 1-2 weeks in advance if possible. In the winter and early spring it is possible to get a reservation within a few days notice.
